On Saturday 5th December 2009, members and friends of the club gathered for the annual Christmas meal. It took place at the Cock Inn, Headley. In addition to the customary sumptuous food, this year's meal had a twist. Club members were given the option of choosing a 'heaven' (good) or 'hell' (not so good), secret Santa present. The undoubted winner of the 'hell' category was John's Cliff Richard 2010 calendar for Rob.
The cheesy calendar resulted in club members posing alongside Cliff's photos. Such was the enjoyment, that we never really found out the best 'heaven' present. We were also 'hell' for the pub staff, who were waiting for us to leave (at about 10:40pm!). Some of us then went to a pub afterwards (the Duke's Head in Tadworth). A Tony Bennet-style crooner proceeded to sing the night away. Sir Cliff would have been so proud.
