Movember Celebration 25/11/2011

Wetherspoons in Epsom was the setting for an end of month, or as near as dammit, celebration for those having taken part in Movember 2011 ((http://uk.movember.com)!

Movember is a fundraising concept which supports cancer and testicular cancer initiatives (such as the Prostate Cancer Charity, The Institute of Cancer Research (ICR) and The Movember Foundation).

During November/Movember men (or 'Mo Bros') grow a moustache for charity. The women ('Mo Sistas') both donate and raise awareness of Movember. The effect is two fold: Movember promotes men's health and raises money for a good cause.

Epsom Rotaract formed its own team in November 2011 - Motaract! John, Simon, David, Chris and Mark were ably guided by their team captain Rob and raised £421 in the process!

All were welcome,  as long as you could just bring a 'tache'! To clarify then, some members were growing a moustache for charity during November and then everyone else was welcome to come and celebrate with a night on the town in Epsom. Fancy dress and novelty clothes were all good, especially gold medallions, unbuttoned shirts, afros, etc to suit those taches! A particularly fun moment was trying to see how many items we could fit on Mark.

A big thank you to everyone who participated and donated during Movember 2011! Check out the next blog posting for our Movember music video!
