2014/15 Rotaract Year

2014/15 has been a fantastic year for Epsom Rotaract - 3 new members, nearly £3,000 (so far) raised for our club charity and lots of brilliant socials and community events!

Volunteering at Race for Life Event at Epsom Downs Racecourse - 28/06/2014

We had a really fun time volunteering at the Cancer Research UK Race for Life Event at Epsom Downs Racecourse. 

Leatherhead Rotary's Charity Barn Dance - 16/05/2015

We had a great evening at Leatherhead Rotary's Barn Dance at Fetcham Village Hall in aid of local charities.

Collection for Nepal Earthquake Appeal - 02/05/2015

We collected £1,926.56 for the Nepal Earthquake Appeal with Epsom Rotary and Ewell Rotary Clubs in The Ashley Centre in Epsom.

Bromley Rotaract's Fish 'n' Quiz and Woking Rotaract's Race Night - 21/03/2015

Surrey Air Ambulance Presentation - 05/11/2014

In the 2013/14 Rotaract year we raised £3,290.61 for Surrey Air Ambulance in memory of former club member Simon who sadly passed away in September 2013. We invited Denis from Surrey Air Ambulance along to one of our meeting to receive our donation and talk to us about the charity.

EMEF Baby Monitor Equipment Presentation - 21/07/2014

 Epsom Rotaractors attended a presentation at the Ebbisham Ward of Epsom General Hospital. It was to present a neonatal Sure Signs monitor for use at the Ebbisham ward. This equipment was purchased with some of the money raised from our Great British Quiz.

Snowdon Trip - 20/06/2014 - 22/06/2014

Our second big fundraising event of the year was a sponsored Snowdon Walk in aid of Surrey Air Ambulance (http://www.kssairambulance.org.uk/) in memory of Epsom Rotaractor Simon, a great friend, partner of one of our club members and our Vice President.

 

Cheque Presentation to Epsom Medical Equipment Fund - 17/06/2014

At the last meeting of the 2013/14 Rotaract year the club presented Bess Harding OBE of Epsom Medical Equipment Fund (http://www.emef.org.uk/index.php) with a cheque for  £2,330.07. The event had a British theme in honour of our Great British Quiz in March, our main fundraising event for the charity.

Snowdon Preparation Walk - 07/06/2014

In preparation for our charity Snowdon Walk on 21st June in aid of Surrey Air Ambulance (http://www.kssairambulance.org.uk/) we headed to Beare Green for 8 mile walk around the Leith Hill area.

Royal British Legion 10th Annual Poppy Quiz - 06/06/2014

All Saints Hall in Ewell was the site for the 10th annual (and final) Royal British Legion quiz. Epsom Rotaract's team 'Pimm's o'clock' were in attendance as was the Mayor of Epsom Cllr Robert Foote, a long time member of the Royal British Legion (http://www.britishlegion.org.uk/).

Ewell Rotary Trivia Quiz in aid of Surrey, Kent & Sussex Air Ambulance - 21/03/2014

Epsom Rotaractors attended Ewell Rotary's Quiz night in Ruxley Lane Church Hall in Ewell.  In the end, the quiz raised a magnificent £1,100 for the Surrey, Kent & Sussex Air Ambulance (http://www.kssairambulance.co.uk/).

Epsom Rotaract returned to Leatherhead Parish Church Hall for a British-themed quiz in aid of Epsom Medical Equipment Fund (http://www.emef.org.uk/). There were British themed rounds on Comedy, Sport, History, Music and General Knowledge plus picture rounds on British counties and British national treasures. Epsom Rotaract President John Bishop was the quizmaster for the evening and club mascot Super Ted was nearby looking out for any cheaters!

Epsom Rotary/Rotaract Christmas Collections 2013!

HO! HO! HO! Once again, we, along with Santa Claus, have been helping the Rotary Club of Epsom with their Christmas Collections around Epsom! £2,695.31 was collected which will go towards Rotary and local charities!
