Over the May Bank Holiday weekend members of Epsom Rotaract were on the water again. Thanks for a great weekend Simon.
As promised an update on the weekend from Simon, the Skipper:
The second bank holiday in May saw five Rotoractors (Simon -
Skipper, Rachel, Anthony, Ellie and Phil) head for the Hamble River for a sail
around the Solent.
Once we'd all gathered at the boat after work on Friday
afternoon we departed our mooring on the Hamble River and headed for the Isle
of Wight and the River Medina and stayed in East Cowes Marina for the night.
Dinner was cooked and eaten aboard.
On departure from Cowes we headed west up the Solent to
Hurst Castle where we anchored the boat with a view of the castle and the
Needles lighthouse in the distance. After lunch we proceeded into Lymington and
spent the night moored up in Lymington Yacht Haven. For dinner we took the
rather long walk to Lymington High Street where we had a curry for our evening
meal.
The following day we left Lymington and motored back towards
the east as there was no wind, we lowered the anchor in Osbourne Bay for lunch
before proceeding to the Beaulieu River with the promise of a marina berth that
never transpired so we ended up on a swinging mooring buoy in the river.
The following day we sailed back to the mooring on the
Hamble River where we packed up and all made our way home.

weekend.
