Simon, Rachel, Katie and Anthony headed down to ‘Katy Girl’ on the Friday afternoon and after setting up, we had an enjoyable evening onboard, catching up over chicken tikka masala and a drink or two. The crew was completed on the Saturday morning with the arrival of Helena and Andy. We head off down the Hamble River and then off over to Cowes on the Isle of Wight. We then navigated up the Medina River to Newport (barely getting stuck in the mud at all) and stopped there for lunch. We then headed back down the river and across the Solent and back along the Hamble to our mooring. The return journey across the Solent was exhilarating as the wind had really picked up and the whole crew had to pull together under Simon as skipper to sail us back.
On the Saturday after enjoying dinner onboard, we were joined by Ellie and her sister Beth. And that evening we were treated by a fantastic firework display by marina. This was my first time sailing with Simon and I had a really fantastic time. So much fun! Thanks for organising another brilliant sailing trip Simon.
