New Year's Trip to Isle of Wight - 31/12/2013 - 02/01/2014

For New Year's the club headed back to the Isle of Wight and it turned out to be another fantastic trip away despite the weather.

We headed down early doors to the ferry terminal at Southampton on New Year's Eve and then crossed over to Cowes on the Isle of Wight. Once on the island we headed to our cottage and then it was off to the local pub for some lunch. Then back to the cottage for board games, drinks and getting ready for the fancy dress competition at the local pub. The theme this year was jungle and our costumes certainly didn't disappoint. We had several monkeys, a tiger, a butterfly, a zebra (think the  Madagascar film), Rambo, Jane and a cave girl and perhaps most inspired was Helena's Amazon (the internet company) costume with lots of Amazon logos and inflatable jungle creatures.

We had a fun evening down the pub despite being the only groups in fancy dress for a while. And it was great chance to get to know the newer members of the club.  We never did find out who won the fancy dress competition. Oh well. My vote would have been Helena.

The next day was mainly spent recovering from the night before and playing board games as the weather was awful. Though a few people did brave the elements and go for a walk. And then in the evening we had a roast.

The final morning at the cottage we had a full English and then it was all hands to tidying up and packing for the 10am check out. We spent the rest of the day exploring the island, including a trip to the Needles, before heading back to the mainland.

Another fantastic Epsom Rotaract trip and a big thanks most go to Anthony for organising it. We really appreciate it.
