To raise money for EMEF last year Epsom Rotaract organised a very successful Great British Quiz. With funds remaining after the purchase of a baby monitor for Epsom General Hospital, the purchase of this special £1,428 Bariatric Urology Couch has been made possible.
In January 2014 Urology Diagnostic Services were centralised within the Trust and located in a purpose built unit at Epsom Hospital, on the 1st floor of the Wells Wing.

Daphne Colpman, Nurse Specialist said “The generous
gift of the Bariatric couch to the Urodynamic Service, has allowed us
to treat those individuals whose weight would have excluded them from
investigations in the past. It also has proved to be more comfortable
than a standard couch for all users, and enables us to provide a
better service to those who need assistance to move. Lastly, it is
electronically controlled by a foot peddle, which enables the nurse
or doctor undertaking the procedure to alter the patients position in
the middle of an investigation.”
John said "I'm very proud to say that Epsom Rotaract has once again played its part in helping the local community, via the money we have raised for the EMEF. This couch will provide an improved service to local patients. As someone who was born here it is great to know that the money we have raised is assisting the public and the local hospital directly”.
