The Epsom Rotaract Christmas Meal 16/12/2011

Ho! Ho! Ho! Merry Christmas! Christmas music could be heard across the airwaves and the room was festively adorned with tinsel and baubles. Yes, it was of course, time for Epsom Rotaract's annual Christmas meal at The Rising Sun in Epsom.

"You're fired!"

A Santa outfit was brought along to add to the festive fun. Mark and David played Santa for the evening. Mark added his own unique Scrooge-like spin on the Santa persona and for some reason yelled: "you're fired" at everyone around him. Lord Sugar would have been proud, I guess.

In addition, to the usual excellent three course meal, there was the customary addition of Secret Santa. John, a noted quizzer, got a calendar with trivia on it. Mark got a book about knot tying to use when leading his boy scout troupe (let's hope he doesn't teach them about Christmas spirit). Stationary addict Holly got at a nice new pen. Wendy got a puzzle book and Felicia got some soaps.

However, the best (or worst) was yet to come. Rob. That's right, for the third year running he got a Cliff Richard Calendar. "Noooooooo!" Rob bellowed. Oh well, he could always sell it to the lady at his work, like he's done for the past two years. Ahh the spirit of giving. In the end isn't that what Christmas is all about?
