Our main fundraising event for the year was a charity Valentine’s Day Quiz for the Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity (http://www.rainbowtrust.org.uk/) and was held at St Mary and St Nicholas Church Hall in Leatherhead. The Rainbow Trust supports families with children who have life-threatening or terminal illnesses.
The quiz featured several rounds with Valentine themes including a picture round of famous couples, history and sports rounds about events on 14 February and questions that had romance-based puns (such as Joe Hart) as answers. Around 100 people came along to the event, and 17 teams battled for prizes. First prize was 6 bottles of wine, second prize 6 boxes of chocolates and last place was 6 wooden spoons! The winning team were the Hopefuls 2.0.

The night, which also included a raffle, raised over £1,300 for
the charity. A further £675 was donated from money raised by Rotaract during
Christmas collections, bringing the total to an impressive £2,000.
It was a fantastic evening. Thank you everyone for all your hard work prior to
the event and on the night.
