Epsom and Ewell Borough Family Fun Day - 21/09/2013

The annual Epsom and Ewell Borough Family Fun Day took place again on Saturday 21st September at Hook Road Arena and the club were on hand to help.

Here is club member Phil's update on the day:

Well.... What a wonderful day. Started at about 7.30am assisting with setting up and directing the stall holders to their pitches. Many local businesses and charities were represented.

Epsom Rotaract's role was to greet the stall holders and point them in the right direction / take payment etc.

Having booked in the last of these, we had enough time for a quick break before the first of over 1000 visitors began to arrive. Here we directed them into queues and took tickets / payments from them. A huge amount of money was raised for the chosen charity which was amazing news.

It was a great opportunity for Rotary and Rotaract to work together to deliver such a great event.

After all was finished at the end of the long long day (5pm) we headed into Epsom for a well deserved meal.

I really recommend new members try this event when it comes around next. Thank you to all who made it possible.

Update - A massive £18,000 was raised by the event and Epsom Rotary and Ewell Rotary have kindly donated £,1000 of this is to our fund for one of our chosen club charities for 2013/14 Surrey Air Ambulance.
