Volunteers consisting of Epsom Rotaract, Epsom Rotary, Ewell Rotary and friends of the clubs (aka the Epsom Community Projects Group)converged in Epsom in late November. The Stephen Woods Centre was in need of a new look and the team began stage one of the makeover.
The aim of this project was to add a fresh coat of paint to the ground floor of the centre. The walls of the hallway and the ceiling and walls of the main community hall were targeted on this day.
It was a day full of emulsion. The team brought the brushes, rollers, paint, ladders and most importantly tea break and lunch time supplies. The walls and ceilings (and some volunteers) were successfully covered in the first coat of white paint. Garden maintenance work was also undertaken outside.
Rotaractors, Rotarians and friends ended the day on high note, satisfied with their work on the first day of the project. The next stage of the project has been pencilled in for 15th January.
